Director, Research Data Analytics
Eric Watson is the Director of Research Data Analytics for the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group Research Institute (MAPRI). Eric has been in his current role since 2019 and has worked as a research data analyst within MAPRI since 2015. Eric’s analytic work is primarily focused on assistance with the maintenance of the Research Data Warehouse (RDW), an integrated view of KPMAS’s data sourced from multiple systems and the Virtual Data Warehouse (VDW), a multi-site system with tables built to specifications from the Health Care Systems Research Network (HCSRN). Eric tests and validates Teradata/SQL ETL and script modifications by IT and codes SQL script changes when business/system changes requirements. In addition he participates in the development of new content areas such as Census and Bone Mineral Density.
Prior to joining MAPRI, Eric worked as a financial data analyst in MAPMG’s Financial Operations Services (June 2014) and as a clinical data analyst at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) (2012). Eric graduated from James Madison University with a B.S. in Biology/Statistics.
