Role
As Associate Director of Research Administration, Maili leads MAPRI’s research administration team and oversees all pre- and post-award activities, ensuring compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements. Under her leadership, MAPRI has consistently submitted error-free research proposals, optimized research administration workflows, and received exceptional ratings in both internal and external audits. Within the Clinical Trials Program, Maili drives strategic initiatives to increase study revenue and improve financial operations. She manages the financial and contractual aspects of MAPRI’s clinical trials portfolio, including the negotiation of clinical trial agreements and supplemental contracts (e.g., NDAs, CDAs, DUAs), and develops and negotiates study budgets with pharmaceutical sponsors.
Maili joined MAPRI in 2019 as the Pre-Award Research Administrator, was promoted to Lead in 2022 and joined the Leadership Team in June of 2025. She holds a Master of Public Policy from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo, and a BA in Global and International Studies from the University of California Santa Barbara. Prior to joining MAPRI, she served as Financial Manager for the division of Hematologic Malignancies & GI Cancer at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
