MAPRI: Recruiting for Clinical Trials Brings Benefits to Patients, Community
Clinical trials are a cornerstone of modern medicine. They are an engine of advancement of treatment options and protocols that drive demonstrable change in quality and length of life. For years, we referred members to external research centers to allow them access to clinical trials – at a high cost to the region and reduced quality of care. In recent years, the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Research Institute (MAPRI) has been internalizing clinical trials to provide patients with easier access, and provide better quality and continuity of care to our members so that we can increase the depth of our own, and the broader, medical knowledge.
