Claudia Derse-Anthony, MAS, RN, CCRP
Claudia Derse-Anthony is a Clinical Research Nurse at the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, Mid-Atlantic Permanente Research Institute (MAPRI). As a Clinical Research Nurse, Claudia reaches out to physicians and their patients to educate them about available research studies, enrolls patients on trials, and monitors patient safety and participation.
She is a second career nurse after spending her early career as a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory generalist and Immuno-hematologist in multiple hospital and private Clinical Laboratories in Maryland, as well as a Research Scientist working in Immunology and Transfusion Medicine. She obtained her B.A. at Gettysburg College, her Masters in Administration from The Johns Hopkins University, and her Associate in Nursing in 2009 from her local Community College as an adult student.
Her nursing career started at St. Joseph Hospital in Towson, MD on the Oncology unit, followed by Clinical Research Nurse positions at the University of Maryland’s Center for Multiple Sclerosis and as a contractor at the National Cancer Institute, working with rare and solid tumors on both Adult and Pediatric Oncology teams. She obtained her research CCRP certification in 2016.
